From 2001 this bike has been the glittering star in the 150cc segment throughout the Indian subcontinent. Hence, powering the 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 is the same 149cc DTSi glad that powered the earlier version. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 has been the best selling model under the Pulsar brand. The semi digital instrument file is equipped with an analogue tachometer, a clock, a digital speedometer, odometer, trip meter, a fuel gauge and some indicators. The current Pulsar engine displaces 149cc and will eventually have to come with ABS as per the upcoming regulations. The engine, like earlier, comes mated to a 5-speed civil transmission.

The clutch action has also been made a tad lighter. The refreshed version is also claimed to be better in terms of comfort and ride quality.

Update March 26, 2018: 2018 Bajaj Pulsar 150 will carry an on-road price tag of INR 91,147 in Mumbai. The recent report even claims that bookings have officially started for this updated model with rear disc brake, split seat, better front forks, bigger disc and better tyres. This equates to around INR 2300 worth rise for all these updates in comparison to the price of single disc model of Pulsar 150. The motorcycle will use the same basic design language and thus, one can expect changes to be in terms of equipment only. As Bajaj Auto has already updated the engine when BS4 norms were applied, the power source will remain exactly the same. Visual changes include a new dual tone shade while equipment updates include a rear disc brake, wide tyres for Pulsar 180 and split seat for improved looks. Majority parts stay black and thus, the motorcycle now looks exactly the same as existing Pulsar 180. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle weighs 144 kg with current specification and using bigger tyre and disc brake would definitely affect the overall weight of Pulsar 150. The fuel tank will continue carrying 15 liters of fuel. It seems like Bajaj Auto is planning to phase out Pulsar 180 as same sort of feel came from TVS when they launched RTR 160 4V. Market for these odd engine sizes is shrinking day by day as people prefer 160cc options over 180. The rear drum model is priced at INR 73,626 Ex-showroom Delhi and we expect a price hike of around INR 3000 for the 2018 model with a rear disc brake.
